About the Snark
In 1906, Jack London began to build a 45-foot yacht on which he planned a round-the-world voyage, to last seven years. After many delays, Jack and Charmian London and a small crew sailed out of San Francisco Bay on April 23, 1907, bound for the South Pacific. Read more in our Blog section.

If you already own a seaworthy Jack to Jack yacht simply pay the race entry fee each year to enter the race.
All starting berths for the 2024 Jack to Jack race are full.
Hope to see you next year.
On race day, we will race either yachts or dinghies, depending on the Sonoma Creek water level.
The limited edition model yacht designs are inspired by Jack London's Snark. They measure 18" long and are crafted out of singed redwood trees removed after the Sonoma wildfires. The premier boats of 2019 are named after Jack London novels: Call of the Wild; White Fang; Valley of the Moon. The prized model boat is The Snark.
In April, when the Sonoma Creek has sufficient flow, the yachts will compete in the Jack to Jack Yacht Race, a .7 mile course down Sonoma Creek, starting at the Jack London Lodge in Glen Ellen, and ending at the Jack London Village. There is an alternate "Low Tide" short racecourse plan as well.
